MoTeC M1 VCUs deliver an exciting new era of EV control capability. Unique M1 technology redefines the potential for customisation using MoTeC’s M1 Build and M1 Tune software.
M1 VCUs are also suitable for HEV applications, with the ability to control modern internal combustion engines, drive by wire, variable cam control and sequential gear boxes.
Advanced, multi-level security makes the M1 VCU a highly flexible solution for both category management and custom implementations that require authorised VCU access.
M1 EV SOLUCIONES
MoTeC offers M1 solutions with varying levels of adaptability and customisation.
VCU firmware configured to a specific vehicle or engine which can include integration with vehicle control systems beyond the engine, e.g. stability control and cruise control.
Customised control strategies at the firmware level, developed by the user within M1’s coding environment, creating unique VCU functionality. This firmware can be loaded into a single Development VCU or rolled out for customers to purchase.
For marine applications or environments subject to dirt or dust, the extra level of protection for electronic components of the ruggedised series M1 hardware ensures maximum longevity.

The M1 Integration Tool, for use with Simulink® enables the integration of a compiled Simulink® model into an M1 control unit. This feature provides a streamlined pathway from MATLAB® and Simulink® control system development to embedded software for an M1 controller by providing a dedicated MoTeC target to the Simulink® Code Generation.
There are three Logging Licence levels. The level determines the number of channels and sample rates available. Logging Level 1 Licence is diagnostic logging, which comes standard with the product, and includes a fixed log set and sample rates.
The Pro Analysis upgrade is the professional version of MoTeC’s i2 data analysis software and provides advanced mathematics, multiple overlay laps, and unlimited components, workbooks and worksheets.
SEGURIDAD
The M1’s advanced security system, based on public-key cryptography – the cornerstone of secure internet transactions – prevents changes to the VCU function without authorised permission. Security is enforced by the VCU and protected by a microprocessor with integrated measures to prevent tampering.
A password feature grants different levels of access for different users, e.g. battery management engineer, drive train tuner and data analysist.
This feature is also suitable for motorsport category applications, where scrutineering teams can be authorised to access extensive information and lock down selected parts of the VCU, while other team members’ access can be limited to specific parameters.
MOTORSPORT CATEGORY MANAGEMENT
Configurable firmware and advanced security strategies, make the M1 VCU suitable for motorsport categories with restrictions in place for either performance parity or cost containment. Firmware can be written specifically for the category, limiting the functionality to the class requirements.
Multiple available data logging sets can be partitioned with restricted access to allow generation of both judicial (scrutineering) and team data from the same device while the security system prevents unauthorised access to data.

This product should be installed in a protected location where only occasional water splashing occurs and where the exposure to dust does not exceed conditions typical for vehicle installations.
This product is designed for an internal operating temperature range of -40 °C to 85 °C.
It should be installed in a location with sufficient air circulation and be shielded against thermal emissions from surrounding components.
This product is designed to withstand vibrations typical for normal vehicle installations.
It should not be exposed to severe and lasting vibrations. For example, the product should not be installed in solid connection to vibrating components like engines or undamped vehicle structures.
Do not attempt to open and/or repair the device.
This product should be disposed of in accordance with relevant national regulations for disposal of electronic waste. It does not contain hazardous materials which might be subject to specific materials regulations.
